Haunted Downtown from 11am to 4pm on Saturday October 29th
- Activities will be all through Downtown Metuchen, if you are interested in showcasing spooky specials and offers, please email us to have your offer included.
- This is not a trick-or-treating event, this is a retail promotion where Downtown visitors come out to learn about your business, shop, dine and experience Downtown Metuchen
- New Street will be closed from Main Street to Pearl Street to host two large kids activities. Closing times will be 8am to 7pm
- MDA sponsored activities will include a DJ on Main Street, T-Rex walking around from 12:30pm to 1:30pm, costume parade with Borough Recreation Department and wheel of misfortune on Main Street
Small Business Saturday from 11am to 4pm on Saturday November 25th
- Please share your Small Business Saturday with us (pop-up stores, in-store specials, dining offers etc.). For a list of the 2021 events to replicate what you’ve previously done visit the 2021 Page.

- The MDA will be having fun spots around town to do Elfie Selfie’s, Metuchen Mistletoe and a Wheel of Downtown Fortune (see link for details)

Holiday Tips & Suggestions
- Suggestions for food & service businesses: Gift certificate bundles or service discounts for new customers signing up on Small Business Saturday
- Suggestions for retailers: Holiday specials, pop-up vendors, holiday gift bundles, personalized shopping experiences, on-line discounts with in-store pick up etc.
- Does your business have Santa coming to visit? If so, please let us know (email link)! We are creating a flyer to share with the schools and community on the day’s that Santa will be visiting Downtown Metuchen!
- If your business is hosting an event, special or pop-up, be sure to create a Facebook event and ‘add’ the MDA as a co-host to get more visibility and to share on multiple platforms
- Be sure to create your social media graphics in a square template so they can easily shared on multiple platforms like Instagram and Facebook at the same time. Need help with your graphics? Just message us and let us know, we have volunteers with graphics & marketing expertise on standby to assist!

- November 27th from 4pm to 6pm Borough of Metuchen Winter Festival Parade & Tree Lighting
- December 3rd from 11am to 4pm will be our Winter Market
- December 3rd from 1pm to 3pm will be a special showing “An Elf’s Story: The Elf on the Shelf” with Q&A with writer and producer Ken Waddell
- December 10th from 11am to 1pm will be Downtown Caroling with Rise Up Chorus (a non-denominational community choral group)
- December 10th from 4pm to 6pm our 4th Annual Gingerbread House contest
- December 17th ‘Twas the Weekend Before Christmas
- December 30th New Year Party from 5pm to 7pm at the Metuchen Town Plaza
